Wonderful Beaches
Barbados's west coast, known as the Platinum coast, has miles of glorious, palm-fringed, white sandy beaches lapped by crystal clear, turquoise waters. At Royal Westmoreland we have access to the exclusive beach facilities at Mullins beach, one of the best beaches on the island. Water sports are available on the beach as well as a recently refurbished beach bar (previously known as Manny's). This is a delightful place for a leisurely lunch either in the main restaurant or on the private deck. Alternatively have a sun-down cocktail and watch the sun set over the sea.
Elsewhere on the west coast there are also other good beaches. What is fun and healthy is to walk along the beach from Mullins to take in the sights of the other beaches and the wonderful beachside mansions; returning for refreshment in the beach bar.
The east coast is a real contrast. Open to the prevailing Atlantic winds it's wilder and more dramatic than the west coast. Enjoy a drive along the coast taking in lunch at the Round House in Bathsheba. This rustic restaurant clings to the hillside above a wonderful beach and rolling waves.
