In the St Philip countryside you can visit Sunbury Plantation House, steeped in history and offering a wonderful opportunity to view the architecture and antiques of a bygone era. The spectacular Crane Beach Hotel is not far away, perched on a cliff top with panoramic views and the magnificent beach below. Ocean Park has quickly become one of Barbados's most popular attractions since its recent opening. This marine aquarium displays a fascinating collection of the freshwater and tropical marine life of Barbados and other oceans. The coastal town of Oistins is known as the island's fishing capital, famous for its Friday night Fish Fry. In the Worthing area is the island's largest mangrove woodland and lake - Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary - home to many residents of birds and local wildlife, and an important resting point for migratory birds. The Barbados Museum includes an exceptional cannon collection and a number of buildings of architectural and historical interest including the recently restored George Washington House, which is the only house outside the USA where Washington ever resided. Installed on the upper floor is a museum focusing on the rich cultural heritage of the island in the 17th and 18th centuries, a time when Barbados was one of the wealthiest countries in the hemisphere.
